Managed Cloud Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a site places on your device. They make a site work, keep you signed in, remember a preference, and help us understand which pages are actually being read.

We also use technologies that behave similarly, including local storage and session storage. This policy calls all of them “cookies” because the distinction matters to engineers and not to you.

This is the clause Managed Cloud customers most often need and least often expect. There are two separate things running, and only one of them is covered by this document.

We do not run advertising or retargeting cookies on this host. Managed Cloud is sold through conversations, not through ad networks, so there is nothing to retarget.

Which cookies are actually present depends on the pages you visit and whether you are signed in.

Signing in to the Managed Cloud portal sets one session cookie. It is worth describing on its own, because it is the one that holds your access.

• It is httpOnly, so scripts running in the page cannot read it. That is deliberate, and it is why your session token is not kept in local storage.
• It is marked Secure, so it is only ever sent over HTTPS.
• It uses SameSite protection, so another site cannot cause your browser to send it.
• It expires when your session ends or when you sign out, whichever comes first.
• Signing out clears it. If you are using a shared computer, sign out rather than closing the tab.

Some cookies are set by services we use rather than by us directly. Those providers process data under their own privacy and cookie policies, and we choose them with that in mind.

• Analytics providers, for aggregate usage measurement.
• Our network and security provider, for protection against attack and for routing.
• Any support or chat tool embedded on a page, where one is present.

We do not sell the data these produce, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you.

• Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and warn you before one is set. The setting is usually under privacy or site permissions.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics measurement using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Your device and browser may also offer a global tracking preference, which we respect where it is sent to us.
• Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in to the portal. That is not a bug and we cannot work around it.

We may update this policy when we add or remove a tool that sets cookies. The date at the top of this page is a real revision date, not the date you loaded the page.
